The iconic G1 suspended fitting could light up the entrance to a contemporary home, a relaxed dining room table, an office worktop, the central island of a US kitchen, the dressing room of a spacious secondary suite, a luxury hotel lounge, the counter of a gourmet restaurant, etc., to name just a few.

The G1 suspended fitting was designed by Pierre Guariche in 1951 and plays with the limits of gravity. This model is easy to recognise with its large metal shade hanging from a brass arm balanced by a counterweight. This clever counterweight system embodies a simple graceful look while creating a cosy designer environment.

Re-issues of the iconic luminaires designed by Pierre Guariche

Pierre Guariche has left an inheritance filled with sleek luminaires in the form of wall lights, suspended light fittings, ceiling lights, floor lamps, desk lamps, etc. Guariche luminaires are compatible with any application or any site, whether you need a well-lit space with an eye-catching design or a discreet wall light blending into the architecture. What do all these creations have in common? They are quite simply timeless.

Pierre Guariche : a headline designer from the 1950′s

Pierre Guariche (1926 – 1995) was a prolific interior designer and architect during the post-war period and is now considered an icon in the world of French design. Functional objects with sleek lines are his trademark. The luminaires he designed in the 1950’s are identified with a simple G and a number in a surprisingly modern manner. Each model conceals a hub of light technology, guaranteeing optimal visual comfort.

G1 suspended fitting: functional lighting reaches a subtle balance with a designer look

The G1 suspended fitting took shape in the early 1950’s and is one of the three variants of the iconic G1 series designed by Pierre Guariche. Both the wall light and floor lamp versions offer the same ideal lighting thanks to the white aluminium bulb cover and the combination of two light sources providing direct and indirect lighting. The metal shade is available with four finishes: vermilion red, black, white and chalk.
