Pierre Guariche : a headline designer from the 1950′s
Pierre Guariche (1926 – 1995) was a prolific interior designer and architect during the post-war period and is now considered an icon in the world of French design. Functional objects with sleek lines are his trademark. The luminaires he designed in the 1950’s are identified with a simple G and a number in a surprisingly modern manner. Each model conceals a hub of light technology, guaranteeing optimal visual comfort.
G1 Floor : balancing design and performance
As an avant-garde lighting designer, Pierre Guariche revealed his stroke of genius with the G1 Floor. The large circular shade houses two light sources to allow for direct and indirect lighting. Thanks to a subtle combination of a straight black base and an articulated brass arm, the floor lamp seems to float.
