Pascal Spectrum
100 mm and 133 mm diameter tubular lights with monochromatic LEDs for specific industrial applications
Monochromatic spectrum LEDs for specific industrial processes
The Sammode tubular light, renowned for its extreme waterproofing and durability, accommodates a whole range of monochromatic LED lights designed for highly specialised applications. Amber for cellar lighting, green for storing root vegetables, violet for algae cultivation... In intensive livestock farming, where animal welfare is a key concern, blue light calms poultry, whilst red light helps cattle sleep. And to switch easily between white and coloured light, opt for the dual-switch version of the Pascal Spectrum.

Unlike ‘white LEDs’, whose broad spectrum is ideal for the human eye, so-called ‘monochromatic’ LEDs offer high colour purity, which is extremely useful for protecting, stimulating or, conversely, avoiding what is not visible: preserving the flavour of wine, promoting photosynthesis in plants, reducing stress in animals... The applications are varied, but one challenge remains: to ensure longevity, a precise light spectrum requires a suitable luminaire, particularly in damp or corrosive environments.
Poultry perceive a broader light spectrum than humans and are particularly sensitive to red and blue light, which trigger opposing physiological responses. Red light induces aggressive behaviour, whilst blue light promotes a state of calm and improves the synchronisation of the animal’s biological rhythms. The blue monochromatic spectrum offered by Sammode, with a peak centred at 470–480 nm, is ideal for broiler poultry, poses no risk to the human eye, and is recommended by veterinary services to reduce stress in animals during the collection and slaughter phases. If required, Sammode also offers a CYAN alternative, with a peak centred at 500 nm
Unlike poultry, cows are barely sensitive to red light. In cattle farming, this therefore allows farmers to carry out inspections or work at night without disrupting the animals’ physiological cycle. In nature reserves and other ecological corridors, red light minimises environmental disturbance, particularly for nocturnal species. Finally, in the laboratory, when its monochromatic spectrum is controlled, it provides reliable non-photochemical lighting that has no impact on photosensitive substances, cell cultures or other photoactive compounds.
Green light, due to its minimal interaction with the photoreceptors in the tubers, limits the activation of undesirable physiological processes: in particular, it reduces chlorophyll synthesis and the production of glycoalkaloids, which are responsible for the greening of potatoes. This spectrum, which remains sufficiently effective for the human eye, allows storage areas to be illuminated without compromising the visual and health quality of the tubers
Monochromatic amber light, calibrated to specific wavelengths recommended by the Comité Champagne, allows cellars and wine stores to be lit without affecting the quality of the wine. By targeting areas of the spectrum that do not activate sensitive compounds such as riboflavin, which is naturally present in champagne, it limits the photochemical reactions responsible for the ‘light taste’, a well-known defect in oenology. This spectral selection, whose stability is ensured by our permanently sealed tubular design, helps to preserve the aromas, finesse and balance of the cuvées, even under conditions of prolonged exposure.
Whilst light primarily enables humans to see colours, in horticulture and aquaculture alike, it promotes the process of photosynthesis and thus growth. However, certain wavelengths – notably the red and blue components of our violet light – effectively target the absorption bands of chlorophyll. The effectiveness of such ‘photosynthetic photon flux’, also known as PPF, is measured in μmol/s. This composite spectrum is particularly well suited to the cultivation of microalgae and cyanobacteria, including spirulina, by stimulating their development and productivity.
Designed and manufactured in France, keeping supply chains short and using durable components and materials, primarily sourced in Europe. Each luminaire is manufactured, assembled and inspected by our teams with full traceability.
Valid even for 24/7 use at the product’s maximum operating temperature, reflecting our unfailing commitment to our customers!
Unlike the disposable world we live in, Sammode lights are designed as modular systems. New technology can be integrated in existing fixtures: simply replace the outdated parts!
