MOD Collection

A luminaire is an essential object, because the light it produces will be responsible for the atmosphere of a place. When I design a lamp, my aim is not to compete for the title of “most beautiful model”. I’m interested in the light itself: which lamp am I going to design that will change the atmosphere or, conversely, which atmosphere am I going to generate by creating which lamp?

The MOD collection is the result of an obvious collaboration between Stephan Diez and Sammode. The starting point was a simple story told by Sammode: the manufacturing process for tubular luminaires.
The Châtillon-sur-Saône factory in the Vosges region of France is a veritable toolbox: it provides a vocabulary of components that can be used to design an infinite number of variations – in other words, a veritable system. It was this modular, inventive manufacturing logic that convinced the designer to embark on this adventure.

For Sammode, he designed the MOD collection, an innovative system of modular luminaires including sconces, pendant and ceiling fixtures, reflecting his ongoing commitment to innovation and functionality.
