On June 25, the Galerie Pierre Guariche in Paris hosted a special evening organized by Sammode to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Pierre Guariche, a leading figure in French design. More than just a tribute, this event served as an opportunity to highlight the modernity and relevance of a body of work that continues to inspire generations of designers, architects, and lovers of fine objects.
At this friendly gathering, design professionals, architects, journalists, and enthusiasts came together to share their admiration for the visionary approach of Pierre Guariche, whose work has had a profound impact on the history of French design.

The evening featured discussions about the recent reissues of his designs, the centennial exhibition at the Cité du Design in Saint-Étienne, and issues related to the preservation and transmission of his work. Guests had the opportunity to hear from Emmanuel Gagnez, president of Sammode; Jean-Marc Villiers, president of the Société des Éditions Pierre Guariche; and Julie Benabdou-Guariche, the designer’s granddaughter—all of whom work daily to keep his legacy alive and promote it.
In the warm and intimate setting of the Pierre Guariche Gallery, the discussions continued over a summer cocktail reception, giving everyone the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and celebrate together the lasting legacy left by this great designer.
One hundred years after his birth, Pierre Guariche continues to embody a discerning, functional, and deeply human vision of design. Sammode is proud to carry on this invaluable legacy by reissuing his lighting fixtures and showcasing his work to new generations.
