Lighting for a TER inspection pit – SNCF

Inspection pits in SNCF TER technical centers are essential infrastructures for train maintenance. Subject to demanding conditions – humidity, oil splashes, mechanical shocks and vibrations – they require reliable, high-performance lighting to guarantee safe, efficient operations.

To meet these requirements, Sammode luminaires were installed. Designed specifically for maintenance pits, these tubular LED luminaires offer optimum sealing (IP68/IP69K) and enhanced resistance to aggressive environments. Their dual optics ensure even illumination under the trains and at the bottom of the pit, reducing shadows and improving operator visibility.

Integrated LED technology significantly reduces energy consumption and maintenance requirements, while guaranteeing constant, glare-free light. What’s more, some installations incorporate presence sensors, enabling adaptive lighting according to activity, contributing to further energy savings.
