The Toulouse-Blagnac airport parking lot recently underwent a complete lighting upgrade, as part of an initiative to improve user comfort while reducing the site’s energy footprint. This initiative is part of the airport’s wider energy transition strategy, which also includes the installation of photovoltaic shading systems in parking lots P5 and P6, enabling the production of a significant proportion of the electricity consumed on site.
Sammode luminaires were chosen to meet these requirements. Their robust construction and tubular design ensure even distribution of light, reducing shadows and improving legibility, particularly when moving around the terminals. The LED technology used delivers energy savings of up to 75% compared to previous systems, while offering optimum durability, essential in an outdoor environment subject to the elements.
Sammode luminaires also enhance safety through controlled lighting, facilitating pedestrian and vehicle movements even at night. Their careful integration into the parking lot’s architecture makes for a more pleasant user experience, while contributing to the airport’s sustainable development objectives.
