SAMMODE
was founded in 1927 at Châtillon sur Saône (88),
and soon became specialised in the manufacture of robust light
fittings specifically for industrial and technical lighting.
During the 60s, SAMMODE turned towards fluorescent
lighting, and added to its range its first sealed tubular
luminaire for industrialists who were looking for an extra
strong seal and long life.
In
1975, the first “TFS e” increased safety lighting
unit for potentially explosive gaseous surroundings was produced
by the Châtillon factory. This was the precursor to
the current LAMARCK and KEPLER
ranges or the brand new SILO range for dusty
potentially explosive surroundings.
SAMMODE luminaires were originally intended
for heavy industry (steel, petrochemicals, etc.), but they
are also appreciated in the agri-food industries for their
ease of cleaning and in technical service applications (car
parks, underground passages, etc.) for their resistance to
vandalism.
In addition, the uncluttered design of the products and the
use of noble materials have enabled SAMMODE luminaires to
enter the field of architectural lighting as part of prestigious
projects such as The French National Library, the Berlin Velodrome
Stadium or the underground EOLE RER stations.

Combine robust materials (stainless
steels, crystal quality polycarbonate with high resistance
to shock, borosilicate glass, etc.) with electrical and/or
electronic components selected in our laboratory for their
resistance to the worst conditions in use.
Work on the casings of the luminaires to achieve the required
performance in terms of:
- imperviousness (high pressure cleaning, marine surroundings,
etc.),
- mechanical strength (steel works, mines, paper mills,
port installations, car parks, etc.),
- resistance to corrosion (agri-food, chemicals, nuclear,
petro-chemicals, etc.),
- resistance to extreme temperatures (cold rooms, founderies,
etc.).
